Important personalities of India

Mahatma Gandhi: Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi is called the father (Bapu) in India. He was born on 2nd October 1869. He was honored with Mahatma in South Africa in the year 1914 which is now used to call him in Worldwide. Gandhi played a significant role in the freedom struggle of British-ruled India. His birthday is a national holiday in India and International day of Non-violence in worldwide.

Chakravarti Rajagopalachari: Chakravarti Rajagopalachari was born on 10th December 1878. He was a lawyer, politician, and an Independent activitist. C.Rajagopalachari was the last Governor General of India. C. Rajagopalchari was also the first recipient of Bharat Ratna, the highest Civilian award in India.

C.V Raman: Sir Chandrashekhar Venkat Raman was a fellow of the Royal Society who was born on 7th November 1888. He was also the first Indian to receive Noble Prize in the field of Physics in 1930. Sir C.V. Raman was also the first scientist to receive Bharat Ratna award in 1954.

Jawaharlal Nehru: The first prime minister and a paramount leader in the Indian Independence movement under the guidance on Mahatma Gandhi. Being a graduate from Trinity College, Cambridge University, served our nation with full of dedication till his death in 1964. Nehru was also received the Bharat Ratna award.

Rajendra Prasad: The first president of India after independence was the Shri Rajendra Prasad. He was born on 3rd December 1884. Rajendra Prasad was also the part of major independence movement of India. He was also the first president to get Bharat Ratna award.

J.R.D Tata: The person who revolutionized the Indian industry, who was the first licensed pilot in India, Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata was born on 29th July 1904 in Paris, France. He was awarded with two prestigious awards i.e. ‘Legion of Honor of French” and the ‘Bharat Ratna” in the year 1992.

C.N.R Rao: Dr. Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra Rao is a fellow of the Royal Society who born on 30th June 1934. He is a well known personality in the field of Structural and Solid-State Chemistry. He is the fourth Scientist to receive the Bharat Ratna award in 2013.

Sarvepalli Radhakishnan: The first Vice president and the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on 5th September 1988. Radhakrishnan received the ‘British Knight Bachelor” and ‘Order of Merit” membership. His birthday is celebrated as ‘Teachers Day” since 1962 in India. He was also the recipient of Bharat Ratna award which is the highest civilian award.

B.R. Ambedkar: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who was the first law minister and the Principle Architect of the Constitution of Independent India. He was born on 14th April 1891 in Madhypradesh. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was also the first Dalit to be a graduate. He was also worked significantly to uplift the untouchables for their education and career. Dr. Ambedkar awarded the Bharat Ratna in the year 1990.

Sachin Tendulkar: The first ever sports person to receive the highest civilian award of India, the Bharat Ratna in 2013 for his outstanding contributions to Cricket in India. Sachin was born on 24th April 1973 in Mumbai, India. This cricket maestro is acknowledged as the Greatest Batsman in the world of Modern cricket by a host of greatest cricketers of all time. He ended his outstanding career after 200th test match against West Indies at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 16th November 2013.
