Anshi National Park and Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary
The Anshi National Park and Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary were included together in the Project Tiger declared as ‘Anshi Dandeli Tiger Reserve†in 2007.
Location: This park is situated in the Uttar Kannda region of Konkan district in Karnataka.
Connectivity: The nearest railway station is at Dandeli. The nearest airport is at Belgaum.
Climate: The climate of the National Park is tropical. The terrain of the park is from undulating to steep slope. The forest types are semi-evergreen to evergreen.
Fauna: The fauna in the park include tiger, Black Panther, leopard, gaur, leopard cat, sambar, elephant, and a variety of birds and reptiles. The Black Panther of this Park is most famous.
Best Period: The best season for visiting the park is between November april April. Dandeli Forest Rest House are available for tourists.
