Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)

A NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) is principally independent from government, which is organized on a local, national or international level to address issues in support of the public good. Generally, NGO performs a variety of services and charitable functions, brings public concerns to governments, monitor policy and program employment. It also encourages civil society to participate in the community level. Again, some NGOs are organized around specific issues, such as human rights. Numerous local, regional and international NGOs have played an essential role in national rule of law change processes and at the global and international level. Some conduct research and analysis in the legal and other fields (e.g. sociology, economics) relevant to the rule of law. In many cases, they produce reports with policy recommendations. Besides, NGOs often serve and help to monitor the international agreements. Again, in the rule of law field most non-governmental organizations are engaged in some form of direct assistance or services, including advising on law-making and other forms of technical assistance and manage rule of law projects. The number of national and local NGOs worldwide that engage in such rule of law activities is vast. In fact, they play an important role for the common people and the nation.
