Anouilh, Jean
Anouilh, Jean (1910-87), French dramatist. He studied law and worked in an advertising agency before turning to the theater. His first success traveler without luggage (1937) was followed by such works as the controversial Antigone (1944) and Ring Round the Moon (1947). The Lark” (1953) is a version of the story of Joan of Arc.
