Short Biography, Paragraph of “Paul Cezanne” short paragraph for Class 12 and Graduate Classes

Paul Cezanne

Paul Cezanne (1839-1906), French post impressionist painter. He was to have followed his father’s profession of banking but became interested in painting and went to Paris in 1861. There he met his old school-friend Emile Zola, and was introduced to the painter Camille Pissarro. At first he was influenced by the impressionists but later broke away from them. He was interested in structure and form and used planes of strong colour to create an illusion of depth. His works include landscapes, such as Mountains in Provence (1878-80), still-lifes, such as Still-life with a Teapot (1899), and portraits.
