Purnima Banerjee
Purnima Banerjee, political worker. A very prominent woman leader of U.P., she was very closely connected with the Congress movement, and was imprisoned many time. She also took part in the individual satyagraha of 1941 against participation in World War II, and played a heroic role in the Quit India Movement during August 1942. She was also a member of the U.P. Legislative Council, and was elected to the Constituent Assembly in 1946.
