Bibi Mubarika

Bibi Mubarika, 1519-29, Afghan princess. One of the wives of Emperor Babar, she was the daughter of Malik Sulaiman Shah of Yusafzai tribe of Afghans who were brought to their knees by this Mughal invader. She fell in love with Babar who had come to her father’s court disguised as a beggar, and was married to him in 1519. She played a significant role in the contemporary history of Afghanistan, and brought Babar’s bones to Kabul. She had no child. It was said that other co-wives had administered drugs to her to make her barren.
