Lakshmimani Devi
Lakshmimani Devi, 1864-1926, mystic. A niece of Ramakrishna, she was born at Katnarpukar, and was the daughter of his elder brother, Rameshwar Chattopadhya. She was betrothed at the age of 12 but her husband disappeared without a trace. After 12 years of waiting she was taken as a widow. She was initiated into Vaishnava discipline by Ramakrishna, and lived in his company from 1872 to 1885. She spent her last days at Puri and died at the age of 62. She was a gifted religious teacher.
