Suja Bai
Suja Bai, d.1535, Rajput princess. Sister of Rao Sarjurnal, the ruler of Bundi, she was married to Rana Ratan of Chittor ; while the Rana’s sister married Sarjumal. During the visit of Sarjumal to his sister, she made a jest over the meals which made the two brothers-in-law very bitter enemies. During the course of a hunt, both of them were killed in a fight when Rana Ratan S made a sneak attack on Rao. The beautiful princess expiated her jest, which cost her husband and her brother by committing sati. Her cenotaph erected on the top of a mountain pass, still stands.
