Yashoda Bai
Yashoda Bai, d. 1811, Mahratha lady. Wife of Peshwa Madhavrao II (d. 1795) she was hardly fifteen when her husband met with an accidental death. She was induced to adopt Chinnaji Appa as her son, on 25 May 1795, who was proclaimed the Peshwa on 2nd June, but was removed in December following a bitter controversy. She was later confined in close custody at Raigarh by the new Peshwa, Bajirao II.
