Lucius Annaeus Seneca
Lucius Annaeus Seneca, (4 BC-65 AD). Roman philosopher, author and politician. After the death of Emperor Claudius in 54 AD he became first Nero’s tutor and later his chief minister. His writings include moral treatises, tragedies, and philosophical works. Condemned for treason by Nero, he was allowed to select his own means of execution and chose to cut open his veins.
