B.R. Ambedkar

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, also known as Babasaheb, was born on April 14, 1891. He was the chief architect of the Indian constituency and was also an Indian nationalist, jurist, Dalit political leader and a Buddhist revivalist. Ambedkar spend all his life fighting against social discrimination and the Indian caste system. In 1990, he was conferred with the Bharat Ratna.On March 1952, Ambedkar was appointed to the upper house of parliament, the Rajya Sabha and remained a member until his death. He was suffering from diabetes since 1948. His health started worsening gradually and he died on 6 December, 1956, just three days after completing his final manuscript ‘The Buddha and His Dhamma’
