Robert Graves

Robert Graves (1895-1985), British poet and novelist. He published three volumes of poetry during his military service in World War I. His popular autobiography, Goodbye to All that (1929), was also based on his wartime experiences. The novels of ancient Rome, I, Claudius and its sequel Claudius the God, were published in 1934. He also published translations and editions of Greek myths. He lived in Majorca from 1929 and was professor of poetry at Oxford from 1961 to 1966.
