Scene Inside Examination Hall

Almost every student is petrified of examinations. It seems like an ordeal through which each student has to pass. It is the day when we reproduce all that we have absorbed from books.

I, as a student, have an interesting experience to narrate. I had a great fault in me. I used to mug up answers without understanding them. Teachers advised me often to shun this habit.

Yet I couldn’t give up this habit as I felt I could not do without it. Last year, I prepared myself for the final examination in the same way.

A day before the exam, my brain had recorded many answers. I was sure that I would stand first as I had memorized all the expected answers. This was my misjudgment. As soon as I got the question paper I realized this.

I started reading the questions and soon began to write down all the crammed up material. To be honest, I did not know what I was writing.

All of a sudden, I forgot a few lines that would connect two paragraphs together. I got nervous and forgot almost every answer. I tried hard to dig my memory.

I shut my eyes for a while so that I may get the picture of the note book from where I had crammed the answers. I found myself in a great fix.

I was so upset that my eyes filled up with tears and a stream of tears started flowing from them. I cursed myself for having adopted such a terrible style of studying.

I felt dejected and disappointed. I wished I had tried to understand what I had been studying and that would have at least helped me now that I only had to write an answer to the questions asked.

I soon attracted a lot of attention because of this. The invigilator and my teachers came and consoled me and told me to write all that I could. I sat quietly for a while, put down my pen and prayed.

Soon my memory began to serve me again and I was able to begin writing again. I can never forget the scene I created in the examination hall and the lesson that I had learn.
