Abadi Banu
Abadi Banu, d. 1924, political and social worker. Popularly known as Bi Amman, she was the mother of the famous Ali brothers : Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali. She worked incessantly for the cause of Khilafat movement, Hindu-Muslim unity and social uplift of women. She was also a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi during the Non-Cooperation Movement, and was a great believer in khaddar and exhorted women all over the country to take to khadi.
