Rajpati Kaul
Rajpati Kaul, 1949, freedom-fighter. Mother of Kamla Nehru, and grandmother of Indira Gandhi, she was the wife of Jawahar-mal Kaul of Delhi. She participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement (1930-32) and was imprisoned in the Lahore Jail. She was also injured in a lathi charge during a nationalist demonstration in front of Delhi courts in 1932.
