Rattanbai Jinnah
Rattanbai Jinnah, 1900-29. socialite, wife of Muhammad All Jinnah. Popularly called Rutty, she was the only daughter of the Parsi Millionaire Sir Dinshaw Petit. She married Jinnah in 1918 when he was 41 and she only 18, against the wishes of her father. Fond of a gay and extravagant life, the marriage soon proved a failure and she left her husband in 1928. She died in the prime of her youth, a year later. Their only daughter, Dina married a Parsi who had become a Christian, and she was immediately disowned by her father.
