Ruth Prawer Jhabvala
Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, 1927- , writer and novelist. Born in Germany of Polish parents, who came to England as refugees in 1939, she married C.H.S. Jhabvala, and came to India. She started writing after her marriage, and is the author of many novels and short stories in English. Amongst her novels To Whom She Will (1955), A New Dominion (1973) are quite well known. She also wrote the script of the film Shakespeare-wallah.
