Savita Behn

Savita Behn, 1919- , political and social worker, and educa-tionist. Closely connected with the freedom movement, she was one of the founders of the Women Sevika Dal, in 1944. She was also responsible for establishing training centers for children, adults and refugee women in Delhi, in 1947. She was also connected with various women’s organizations. From 1962-66 she was a member of Punjab Legislative Council and was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1972. In 1971 she was awarded Pad ma Shri.
