Vijaya Raje Scindia
Vijaya Raje Scindia, 1919- , statesman, and educationist. Married to late Jiwaji Rao Scindhia, the former Maharaja of Gwalior, she was elected to Lok Sabha in 1957 and again in 1971. She became an active leader of Jan Sangh, in opposition to Indra Gandhi, and was briefly interned during the emergency in 1976. She withdrew from politics on her release. She was also connected with many educational institution.
