Sir John Betjeman
Sir John Betjeman (1906-84), English poet. His popular volumes of poetry include A -Few Late Chrysanthemums (1954) and a verse autobiography, Summoned by Bells (1960). He also wrote on the architecture, churches, and countryside of Britain. He was knighted in 1969 and was Poet Laureate from 1972 until his death.
