Composition Writing on “You were at the beach with your friends. All of a sudden, you heard a loud scream.” for Class 9, 10 Students.

You were at the beach with your friends. All of a sudden, you heard a loud scream.

It was the start of the school holidays. Mason and Jeremy asked me to go to the beach with them. As I was bored and had nothing to do, I agreed. We discussed over the phone what to bring and then to meet in an hour’s time.

We took a bus and reached the East Coast Beach in half an hour. We managed to find a shady spot to place our things. Then we changed into our swimming trunks and dived into the cool refreshing water. The weather was great and we were having fun. As time passed by, the crowd at the beach began to thicken too.

While we were swimming halfway, we heard a loud scream. Curious, we turned to where the scream had come from and we were shocked to see a boy not too far away, struggling to stay afloat. He seemed to be having problems swimming and his arms were flailing in the air.

“What shall we do?” Mason asked. I was at a loss too. Jeremy, who was a proficient swimmer, swam with deft strokes towards the floundering boy. As he was also trained in life-saving, he was able to get the boy out of the water very easily. By then, a small crowd had gathered to see what had happened.

Jeremy performed some simple resuscitation on the boy and we were relieved that he was fine. His parents who had been looking for him ran up and upon seeing that their child was fine, they cried tears of relief. For safety’s sake, Jeremy advised them to take him to a doctor just to ensure that he was fine. The couple thanked Jeremy profusely and then left with their child.

Some of the people in the crowd gave Jeremy the ‘thumbs up’ sign. Mason and I were very proud of Jeremy and we decided to give him a treat at a fast-food restaurant.
