Sarswati Bai
Sarswati Bai, 1658, courtesan. A favourite mistress of Murad (executed 1661) she was allowed to keep company with t/ him during his captivity in Gwalior fort by Aurangzeb in June 1658. She started loud laments when Murad came to bid her farewell during the night he had planned his escape, which alerted the guards, and he was caught and executed.
