The first Olympics to be boycotted were the 1976 Olympics by the African nations. They demanded the expulsion of the New Zealand Rugby team. The Africans were joined by Iraq and Guyana.
The Moscow Olympics were boycotted by the US and later by Australia and Great Britain in 1984.
Again, the Russians boycotted the Olympics held in Los Angeles.
