Chinna Devi or Nagala Devi
Chinna Devi, or Nagala Devi, early 16th cent., queen of Vijayanagar. She was originally a courtesan, but Krishnadeva Raya (1509-30) as a young man, fell in love with her, and later married her in opposition to his minister. Vie also built a city in her honour called Nagalapur (Hospett) in about 1520.
