Mehtab Kaur

Mehtab Kaur, 1786. Sikh princess. wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Daughter of Gurbaksh Singh of the Kanhya misl, and Sada Kaur, she was married to Ranjit Singh (1780-1839) when he was only five years old. She was the mother of Sher Singh (d. 1843) and Tara Singh, though according to some they were taken from some menials and passed off as her own sons.
