“When do plants breathe?” Important Questions and Answers for Class 9, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12

When do plants breathe?

As we know, plants produce their own food during the day by a process called photosynthesis. During this process they release more oxygen into the atmosphere than they breathe in. The effect of the plants feeding and breathing system is that they exhale oxygen during the night. Without enough plants, the world’s atmosphere would never be replenished with sufficient oxygen for the human race to survive.

It is important to note that during a cold weather, plants generally it breathe slower and many plants including trees reduce their breathing to a minimum during winter.
