“Why does a tractor have larger rear wheels’?” Important Questions and Answers for Class 9, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12

Why does a tractor have larger rear wheels’?

The rear wheels of a tractor are made larger to increase  the area of contact between the wheel and the ground to avoid slipping, while pulling heavy wagon or ploughing the field etc. Larger wheels pre-vent the tractor from getting trapped in muddy and  irregular fields while working as they have large moment of inertia. Moreover, in all the tractors the engine power is delivered to rear wheels.
